Industrial products and transportation are two things that cannot be separated from each other, said Achmad Hafisz Tohir, Member of the House Commission XI, the standing committee overseeing matters relating to financial affairs. Tohir added that the development of transportation systems comes first in most developed countries.

The legislator acknowledged that the current administration is on the right track when it chose to focus on developing various systems of transportation to improve industrialization in Indonesia.

"We hope the industry will grow along the transportation route, which is expected to boost our economy. Only then can we expect our economy to grow even more and reach the projected figure," Tohir asserted on the sidelines of the working visit of the House Commission XI to oversee the Cisumdawu Toll Road infrastructure project in West Java Province on Monday (12/10/2020).

Inquired about the land acquisition for the currently-delayed Cisumdawu (Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan) toll road infrastructure project, Tohir emphasized that the problem should not hinder the progress of the ongoing construction.

“The disputed parties should take this issue before the court for it will not only resolve their dispute but also strengthen our legal system. Therefore, no one will cause any further delay to the toll road development. Right now, we are very optimistic that the Cisumdawu Toll Road will begin operation next year,” he claimed. (dep/es)
