PARLEMENTARIA, Batam - Saan Mustopa on land priority programs in Riau Islands with the Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), stated that the area of agricultural land has never increased. However, the demand for land has been consistently increasing over time.
Mustopa said that the issue of land has always been a recurring problem that we have to face. We can see that the state, the industry (private sector), and individual needs require continuous development. Moreover, the population is also growing, resulting in a greater need for land. He made the statement after a meeting at the Batam City BPN Regional Office in Riau Islands Province, Wednesday (20/03/2024).
Mustopa also urged the Ministry of ATR/BPN to resolve the issue of unregistered land. Based on the presentation, it is estimated that there are approximately 905,593 land parcels in Riau Islands, with 769,346 land parcels or 84.95% already registered, while 136,247 parcels or 15.15% remain unregistered.
Mustopa expressed his optimism that the land program would be achieved according to its priorities and provide benefits to the people. He emphasized that the program should not make things complicated for the people and instead ensure justice and legal security over land ownership. (dip/aha)
